Abia government faults Otti over media comments against Ikpeazu

The Abia state government has faulted a two time governorship candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance in the state, Chief Alex Otti, over his comments in the media.

Otti, had during a press conference in Lagos on Monday accused the Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, led administration of gross incompetence and non performance  in office.

Otti, allegedly discredited Ikpeazu, over a recent media tour conducted to mark his first 100 days in office as a two term as Governor of the state.

Among issues raised by Otti, against the media tour were a rice mill which the Governor commissioned describing it as substandard, adding that there was nothing like Abia rice in the market.

We equally accused the Governor of owing pensioners and other government workers of many months of salary arrears.

Otti, alleged that the were poor road network in the state, while the state government had constantly inundated the media with pictures taken from unknown places.

But in swift reaction the chief press secretary to the Governor Mr Onyebuchi Ememanka, faulted Otti's claims, adding that he was not  in touch with the state of affairs in the state.

He said, "Otti, wants to Govern Abia from his Lagos based. He doesn't live here, has no business interest here and such is completely ignorant of what happens here".

Ememanka, also accused otti, for being responsible for the slow space of development in the state since he boasted that he (Otti) truncated the attempts by the Abia state government to secure a facility from the African Development Bank for purposes of infrastructure upgrade and other related uses.

The CPS added that Otti, was not fair on Ikpeazu, when he alleged that there was no visible road construction done by the by his government when he admitted  that he was aware of 59 road projects done by Ikpeazu out of 79 roads projects the Governor listed during a debate in the build up to the 2019 Governorship election.

Ememanka equally faulted Otti's, claims that there was nothing like Abia rice, pointing out that Otti, might have intended to attack Ikpeazu, but he was actually doing a great disservice to the genuine efforts of many Abia rice farmers whose hard work propelled the Governor to commence the establishment of cottage rice mill in the state to encourage them.
