Imo speaker partners CCB to curb corruption Chidiebube Okeoma , Owerri



The speaker of the Imo state House of Assembly, Collins Chiji, has said that his office would partner the Code of Conduct Bureau in fighting corruption among office holders .
The speaker who spoke while receiving in audience the new state coordinator of CCB, Bon Ejiogu, said that the state House of Assembly would give the bureau the legislative support to function optimally in the state.
Chiji, said that the job of CCB was crucial in the advancement of the country's democracy.
He said that public leadership comes with sacrifice, even as he urged politicians to give priorities to issues that affect the masses.
The speaker said " I welcome you to Imo state and be rest assured that you will  get the support you need to function optimally in imo state.my office believes in transparency in office .We will give you all the assistances that would enhance your work.
" You are very crucial in the advancement of our democracy. Imo state House of Assembly believes that the work of CCB is important. We must show probity, transparency and integrity in office. "
The speaker said that issues of accountability and declaration of assets should be taken seriously by every politician.
The CCB director said that he came to familiarise with speaker having been transferred to the state recently.
The director said that CCB was committed to ending corruption among public holders.
