Abia state Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, has granted the appeal by traders at the Umuahia city centre (Isi Gate) earlier today, by approving the extension of the ultimatum for them to relocate to 31st December 2019.
The Governor however directed that they should ensure that the sanitary condition of the area was in good condition.
He equally tasked them to maintain the security of area and abstain from obstructing free flow of traffic and impede the beautification work planned for the area.
The Governor in a statement by the Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu, stated, "by this notice, all traders are expected to voluntarily leave the Isi Gate area before close of business on December 31, 2019 as anyone found there will be dealt with according to the law".
