The Abia chapter of the All Progressive Congress has expressed hope that its leader senator Orji Kalu, would get Justice at the appeal court.
The chairman of the party in the state chief Donatus Nwankpa, who stated this during an interactive session with Journalists in Umuahia the state capital on Wednesday added the party shares in Kalu's travails.
Kalu was, however, convicted of N7.1 billion fraud on December 5 and sentenced to 12 years in prison.
Nwankpa said the party members in the state has confidence that Kalu's team of lawyers will be able to argue his case before the applet court and get Justice for him.
He said, "The APC Government respects the separation of powers and we cannot do anything that will ridicule the Judiciary and the government of Major General Mohammadu Buhari. (rtd)
"The party is pursuing an anticorruption crusade which is intended to make Nigeria corruption free and we do not intend to enter into unnecessary debate over a matter that is before the Court.
"We are hopeful that the legal team of Senator Kalu, has the facts and they will argue his case based on the facts on ground to get Justice for him because we know that at the end of every cloud lies silver lining".
