Nobody will discriminate against disabled people in Imo - Uzodinma Chidiebube Okeoma , Owerri



The governor of Imo state, Hope Uzodinma, on Thursday assured people living with disabilities that nobody will discriminate against them in his administration.

The governor who addressed people living with disabilities and members of National Union of Road Transport Workers who were on a solidarity visit to him at the government house in Owerri, said that "disabled people" have equally opportunity" in the state.

Uzodinma said that the era of marginalization against special citizens were over in the state.

The governor said " there will be no marginalization or discrimination against you.Go home and rejoice because this is your government. The same opportunity an abled person has in this government is what you have.I will address your demands one after the other."

Uzodinma who also addressed members of road transport said that the state was in safe hands.

He said that his administration would use the will of government in conformity with the law to clampdown on those he said that were causing mayhem in the state.

The governor said that he was for peace and service and would at all times put the interest of the state first.

Uzodinma said " I will not allow anybody to intervene with your activities. Any executive you elect, government will work with them.I have come for peace and service. There is a new dawn in Imo state and Imo will be better by the grace of God.

" Government is a respecter of fundamental  human rights and we will use the will of government to handle those who want to cause mayhem in Imo state. Those who are causing crisis in Imo state will have the law to contend with.

"Let me use this medium to again call on those handling state government projects to go back to sites.If by Tuesday they didn't go back to sites I will revoke the contracts. This is dry season and it is the best time to build roads.

"You are  here today because there is no rain.By rainy season, you can't easily access here. Government is a continue and that is why I have asked them to go back to sites."
