The leader of Legislative Council, Arochukwu Local Government, Hon. Sam Charles Okeke, has urged the people of the area to endure the pains of the lockdown measures associated with the fight against the spread Coronavirus in the state, saying it was aimed at public interest.
Speaking to Journalists after the introduction of Hon. J.J. Okorie as the coordinator of the Covid -19 taskforce for Arochukwu/ Ohafia Local Government Hon. Okeke, said that the lockdown measure remains the only option left to government to prevent the spread of the virus in Abia state.
He further said that though there were pains associated with it, but the measure remains the best weapon in the fight against the virus.
The Arochukwu born Politician commended the people of the area for their support to the state government order and complying with the outlines enumerated by state government and expressed gratitude to God that the state was yet witness any case of infection.
He further eulogized Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, for all the measures so far applied and for the palliative given to cushion the effects of the lockdown.
He assured that the people of the council would continue to collaborate with the state government in its efforts against the possible spread of the virus in the area
