The chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance in Abia state Chief Nkem Okoro, has described a former chairman of the party Rev Augustine Ehiemere, and other members of the former state working committee of the party parading themselves as a faction of APGA as impostors.
The chairman who spoke in Umuahia the Abia State capital
also urged members of the public to ignore the group.
Okoro, was reacting to a statement by the ex- SWC members of the party led by Ehiemere, who attacked some members of the party who had indicated their interest to leave the party.
He said the party would support its members to recover all monies that was allegedly taken from them by members of the former state working committee of the party led by
Ehiemere, in the run up to the 2019 general election.
Okoro assured all members of the party who were in court to recover their stolen monies of the full support of his led executive.
He wondered why the former officials of the party could turn around to do a hatchet job against its leaders who left due to the leadership crisis rocking the party.
He insisted that the party SWC is headed by himself adding that Ehiemere and his cohorts were impersonators.
He said, "we have it on good authority that the former National Chairman of the party Chief Victor Oye, was the sponsor of the impersonators to create doubts in the minds of the unsuspecting members of the public.
Oye who has been desperately trying to hold on to the National Chairmanship of the party against all odds has succeeded in breaking the party into three factions with many litigations even when there is an imminent election in Anambra state next year".
Okoro, who apologized to his partymen insulted by Ehiemere and his group pointed out that the state chapter of the party was strategizing on how to plead with the likes of Mrs Bianca Ojukwu, senator Stella Oduah, Senator Ifeanyi Uba, Mr Frank Nneji, Chief David Ogba, Chief Chris Nkwonta, Chief Okey Eze, Chief Humphrey Anumudu, Chief Stanley Amuuchi, Chief Uche Onyeaguocha, Dr. Alex Otti and others to come back to the party.
"We are using this medium to to apologise to all those who were insulted and provoked to leave the party. We are specifically apologising to our former leader Dr Alex Otti, who has just indicated his interest to leave the party because we recognize his immense contributions in building a formidable APGA in Abia and wants him and others to return to the party", he added.
He pointed out that APGA was formed to render responsible leadership to the people and not to defraud them like the former National Chairman (Oye) did in Imo, Abia and Anambra.
