Kalu is detribalised Nigerian- aide Ogbonnaya Ikokwu, Umuahia

The legislative aide to the Senate Chief Whip, Senator Orji Uzor-Kalu, Mr Victor Ettie, has described him as the most detribalised politician in Nigeria.

Ettie, who spoke during an unscheduled interaction with journalists in Umuahia, the Abia state capital on Tuesday, described his boss as a special breed of a politician in his dealings with people.

Ettie, who sought the cooperation of journalists in the state in reporting Kalu's achievements in the Senate, promised to lead the media men to an on-the-spot assessment of the projects he had attracted so far on a future date.

He said, "My boss and the Senator representing the Abia North Senatorial district is a special breed of a man.I have never seen a detribalised person in my entire life like him.

"Sometimes, I wonder the kind of spirit he has and the way he does things.

"Just recently when he was released from the correctional centre, some politicians from the opposition party who had been his long time opponents

visited him and we were superised at the way he received them and forgot all their past political differences.

"He has a mind to accommodate anybody that comes around him irrespective of tribal, religious or party affiliations. It's a thing that's in-born in him and a special gift that only a few persons have and it's not easy to come by.

"Senator Kalu is not the type of a person that would play partisan politics in terms of the distribution of projects. In fact,  he is ready to site more projects in places he had less votes in the previous election just to encourage them to vote for him during the next because he is going somewhere and graudualy he will get there".

Ettie pointed out that the projects Kalu had attracted for his constituents were distributed devoid of any clanish or political affiliations.

"The only criteria for the distribution of projects under the watch of Senator Kalu is the need of the people", he emphasized.
