The time to diversify our economy is now- Ogah Ogbonnaya Ikokwu, Umuahia

The Minister of state for Mines Steel Chief Uchechukwu Ogah, has said his ministry was working hard to diversify Nigeria economy to prevent the Country from being over dependent on crude oil.

Speaking during a civil reception to Mark his one year in office organized by the All Abia Youth Congress in Umuakam, Umuahia North  Local Government on Saturday, Ogah, stated that the only way to revive the Nation's economy after the crash in the price of crude oil as a result of the Corona virus pandemic was massive investment in other natural resources.

He added that the ministry of Mines and Steel was working hard to ensure that there would be massive transformation in the sector, so as to provide employment for unemployed youths in the Country.

He also urged Abia residents to remain supportive of the President, Major Gen Muhammadu Buhari's (RTD)  administration.

Ogah added that South-East geopolitical zone "is witnessing alot of transformation in terms of project under the watch of Buhari".

Meanwhile the All Abia Youth Congress has passed a vote of confidence on Ogah.

The leader of the group Comrade Chinedum Obilor (Iyierioba) said that “since Abia state started sending ministers to Abuja, this is the first time they started feeling the impact under Dr. Uche Ogah”.

He thanked Ogah for his non partisan disposition in his philanthropy which has seen members of the opposition party enjoy some of the largesse that has accrued from his fruitful representation in the Federal Executive Council.

In his words, “We have not come here today for campaign, or politics, we are only here to tell Dr. Uche Ogah that he is doing well in Abuja. When the time for politics comes, we will speak”.
