Abia state born legal practioner B
arrister Ogala Osuka, has charged the Local Government administration across the country to make youth empowerment a top priority in their agenda.
Osuka, spoke in Bende Local Government headquarters shortly after commissioning the office complex of the National Youth Council of Nigeria Bende chapter recently.
He insisted that the Local Government was vital in human capital development because it's the tier of government nearest to the people.
He added that the Local government is sacrosanct in the development of the state and country at large, because it handles the basic infrastructural needs of Nigerians including
education, Agriculture and even road construction.
"As such the Local Government must prioritize the empowerment of the youth if it want to see real change in the future", he said.
He charged the youths in Bende to always table their challenges to the LG authorities in their areas rather than staying aloof to die in silence.
"The youth can resolve a lot of community issues if they seek audience with their Local Government chairman because he is accessible" he stated.
He thanked the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Bende chapter for finding him worthy of the Youth Ambassador Award.
Osuka, equally enjoined the new Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria in Bende LGA, Comrade Sunday Onuoha, to use his office to make positive impact on Bende youths.
The Transition Committee Chairman, Bende Local government Dr. Haglar Okorie, who received Osuka, in his office also challenged the youths in the State to show their mettle in the upcoming Local Government elections slated for December 18, 2020 by vying for all positions in the 17 LGAs.
He added that the December LGA election will be a litmus test for members of the youth forum across the 17 LGA's of Abia State to show how prepared they are for governance.
Okorie, also urged youths in the State to exhibit their energy in pursuing meaningful ventures that will attract progress and development to the State.
He commended Barrister Usoka, for his philanthropic gestures in Bende LGA, pledging to synergize with him for a better Bende.
