*NOLLYWOOD STAR, UCHENNA NNANNA-MADUKA BURIES MOTHER IN GRANDSTYLE*




Iyom Jesus, Golden Mother, Ezinne, Romana Jane Mgbo Nnanna, the mother of nollywood star Uche Nnanna-Maduka has been laid to rest.


The funeral which took place on 23rd October 2020 at Eziukwu Umuye, Ihiechiowa in Arochukwu Local Government Area of Abia State, attracted top celebrities, Captains of Industries and men and women from all walks of life.



Mama Romana Nnanna  until her death was a devout and dedicated Catholic who gave her life to God and service to humanity.


Giving the homily, the presiding Priest of St. Mulumba Catholic Church, Umuye Ihiechiowa, Ven. Rev. Father Jude Njoku extolled the good works of Iyom Jesus describing her as an exemplary Christian who served God and humanity and enjoined the living to lead an exemplary life, praying for the peaceful repose of her soul.


The homily which emphasised on resurrection to eternal life after death, stressed the importance of living a life not just worthy of emulation but of inheriting the kingdom of God.


 According to the Priest, death of the righteous is but a temporary resting of the body and soul until resurrection, adding that blessed are those who died in the Lord for they shall rest peacefully in the Lord.


“To rest peacefully, you must live a life worthy of emulation, a life pure before God. The wicked does not rest but the righteous does for God will judge the good and the bad on the judgment day, and the sheep shall be separated from the wolves" he added.


On her part, the daughter of late Mama Iyom Jesus, Uche Nnanna-Maduka, an A-List Nollywood actress and a Movie Producer, who has made her mark in the Movie Industry featuring in many top nollywood movies including Double Personality, Twirl, Maria, ill Fated among others, appreciated everyone who attended the funeral and kept in touch with her family in their trying times. 


“It deeply saddens me to say that my beloved mother is gone. This is a trying time for my family, I appreciate everyone who came to be with us during this period despite their tight schedule and the ongoing national crisis. May God bless you all”, she said during the funeral.


Mama Iyom Jesus is survived by Many Children and grandchildren including Mrs. Loretta Ahuokpeme, Lady Maureen Kalu-Ofor, Miss Nkechi Nnanna, Dr. Ngozi Noel Ogamba, Mrs. Uchenna Nnanna Maduka, Mr. Chibuzo Nnanna, Mrs. Chikodi Wildenberg and Mr. Justine Nnanna.
