Clifford University, Ihie in Isiala-Ngwa North Local Government Area of Abia State is currently working on a research on the alternative ways to preserve food items.
The research when concluded will solve the problem of food wastage by households in Nigeria occasioned by irregular power supply.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Chimezie Omeonu, disclosed this on Tuesday in the university during a maiden pre-convocation press briefing of the university.
He said the university which would graduate 65 students in the event schedued for March 28, 2021 was interested in exploring researches in various fields of human endeavors for the betterment of mankind.
He said,"we intend to expand on academic researches in the area of medical sciences, particularly in the aspect of nursing and midwifery.
"We also want to explore researches in the area of skill acquisition and entrepreneurship to arm the students with skills before they graduate from the University.
"Our focus is also in the area of study of law to arm the students with knowledge to dispense justice in society".
Omeonu, pointed out that the university which is the second founded in Nigeria by the Seventh Day Advertist Church, do not compromise its stand on discipline, academics and safety of its students.
