Attack on Abia CID: Police loses two inspectors, kill eight hoodlums

 




The Abia state Police command on Sunday confirmed that eight suspected hoodlums were shot dead during the attack on the State Criminal investigation Department on Saturday.


The Police Public Relations Officer in the state Mr Geoffrey Ogbonna, who revealed this to Journalists, also added that two Police inspectors died during the gun battle with the hoodlums.


He added that one Sienna bus and a Toyota Camry car was recovered from the suspects, while some of them fled with bullet wounds.


Ogbonna, said the hoodlums who are yet to be identified threw explosives from the back of the CID building razing down the facility and some exhibit vehicles within the premises.


He warned medical facilities within the state to report anyone with bullet wounds that comes to their clinic for treatment to the police.
