The sit-at- home order by the Indigeneous People of Biafra to protest the detention of her leader mazi Nnamdi Kanu, by the Federal Government recorded a total complaince in Aba the commercial hub of Abia State on Monday.
Our correspondent who monitored the order reports that commercial Banks, private schools, markets and motor parks did not open for business.
A trader who spoke to our correspondent under the condition anonymity said closing his shop for day to fight injustice in Nigeria would not make him poor.
He said' "Markets were closed for many months last year because of COVID-19 and we survived it, so I don't see how closing my shop for one day will kill me.
"All we are saying is that the Federal Government should release Nnamdi Kanu, because he didn't commit any crime by asking for the freedom of Biafras".
In Umuahia the state capital the order recorded a high level of compliance as many shop owners did not open for business.
Also commercial Banks, private schools and other cooperate service providers did not open shop.
A tricycle operator who spoke to our correspondent said he came out for business because of the news of the suspension of order on social media on Sunday.
He said there was nothing wrong with the sit-at-home order because the people were demonstrating their support for the fundamental human right of Kanu, whom he believed is fighting for their freedom.
