The Abia State High Court sitting in Umuahia presided by Justice Benson Anya has ordered the Federal Government to apologize to the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu for violating fundental humans right his in September 10, 2017.
The Court also ordered the Federal Government to pay compensation of one billion Naira to him for demages in Afara Ukwu country home when a detachement of soldiers invaded his house.
Kanu, had approach the court to seek justice following the invasion of his house by soldiers after he was granted by bail for treasonable fellony brought against him by federal government.
Justice Anya, also advised the federal government to seek a political solution to the charges of treasonable fellony against kanu for which he is still standing trial at the federal High Court in Abuja.
Kanu's counsel Chief Alloy Ejimakor hailed the judgement, saying it was a Victory for his team.
He said, "we are happy because we succeed in the question we brought before the court that Nnamdi Kanu's fundental humans right were
violated in September 2017".
"The Court asked FG to apologize to him and seek for a political solution to the charges brought against. The Court also ordered the FG to pay him a compensation of one Billion Naira".
Counsel to the military Amos Tori, refused to comment on the judgement, saying he would wait to obtain a satisfied true copy of the judgement first.
