Jubilation as pensioners receive palliative from Udensi

There was jubilation in Abayi Ovim, Isikwuato Local Government on Thursday as... pensioners received N10,000 cheque each from Abia born security expert Mazi Chikwe Udensi.

Udensi, who to spoke newsmen at the event,stated that the Palliatives distribution programme to the Elderly and Pensioners was born out of compassion as they are owed pensions arrears by the Abia State government.

He promised to return next month with the same programme while urging the pensioners to be patient, adding that God has heard their cries and will provide Abia with a good leader who will pilot the affairs of the State where everyone will benefit from the dividends of Democracy.

While calling on the spirited Abians to join hands with him in their respective capacity,Udensi expressed joy over the kind gestures shown by his Children whom he said had contributed from their pocket money and school allowances to ensure he succeeds in his palliatives initiative.

The Interpol Consultant who described Abia government as insensitive, further said that it was an anomaly for pensioners who served the for 35 years to be owed their pensions for months.

He told the pensioners that the only way the guly senario of owning them their pensions would end will be a change of government in the state.

"We have seen your suffering after serving the state for many years, we are determined to change story.

"The only way we is by sending the people in government now out of the government house, we are ready to form the next government through your support by giving us your votes.

"When we come to government we will establish charity Commission to care for Elderly people, motherless babies, with a psychiatrist hospital. The commission will be manage by church missions".

Some of the Pensioners who spoke to journalists including Fedelia Adaego, who retired from the ministry of education and Sunday Olisa who retired from Abia IDP lauded Udensi for remembering them adding that the money would help them solve some of their problems.
