The Seventeen Local Government Coordinators of Abia youths for Ikuku has been inaugurated with a charge to make the political structure strong , viable and to support the political aspirations of their principal,the Speaker, Abia House of Assembly,Rt Hon Engr Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji.
The Chief of Staff to the Speaker and the Convener, Abia Youths for Ikuku,Hon Kenneth Ezeigbo who administered oath of office and oath of allegiance gave this charge shortly after their Inauguration ceremony Tuesday at Abia Hotels, Umuahia.
Hon Ezeigbo noted that their principal has not told them his intentions to the next level but he knows he is going to the next level adding that PDP has not zoned any position to any Senatorial District that their prayer is that their principal assumes a higher position.
On his part,the Patron of Abia Youths for Ikuku,Engr Kingsley Chibiko Young said that Abia youths are tired of sitting on the fence and that they are poised to participate actively in the governance of the state in the emerging Political dispensation while expressing optimism that they have found a leader to whom they are well pleased in person of Rt Hon Engr Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, Ikuku oma Abia.
Engr Kingsley Chibiko Young explained that Abia youths are tired of being onlookers,tired of being used and dumped and that is why they have decided to take the bull by the horn to form a coalition comprising youths in all the 17 LGA'S of Abia State,that our vision is to get the youths into power, get the youths into the Governorship of Abia State.
To this end,he said having carefully carried out their assessment and set out certain criteria, have discovered a unique youth that loves and is very passionate about upliftment of his fellow youths, a selfless leader per excellence,therefore is calling on Abia Speaker to hearken to their yearnings and run for Abia Governorship come 2023 promising to purchase his nomination and Expression of interest forms.
Earlier,the State Coordinator,Onyemachi Ndidi Fredericks called on Rt Hon Engr Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, Ikuku oma Abia to come and salvage the state stressing that though their principal has not declared his intention to becoming the next CEO of Abia State,but they are calling on him to come and salvage the state just as he is doing in the 7th Assembly.
He further explained that his youth- oriented programmes, philanthropy,Direct Touch initiatives,his zeal to making Abia a better place for all which he said has marked him out as the best CEO in the present dispensation.
Meanwhile,the 17 LGA Coordinators have all pledged to work for the upliftment of the political structure to achieve the set objective.
