A group identified as Fans of Osinbajo, has passed a vote of confidence on the Vice president Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, to succeed the President Major General Mohammadu Buhari(Rtd), in 2023.
The group in a statement on Saturday in Umuahia the Abia State capital stated that Osinbajo, is a detribalised Nigerian who has acquired the requisite adminstrative competence to move the country forward.
The codinator of the group Mr.Justice ogugua, said her members were drawn from the 17 Local Government Areas of the State to galvanize support for Osibanjo, to win the ticket of the All Progressive Congress and in turn the 2023 presidental election.
He pointed out that Osibanjo's, dedication and approach to matters of national interest have amassed a large army of supporters for him across the cross.
He said, "The purpose of this group is to call on all and sundry to join us in this auspicious quest, aimed at seeing to the emergence of Prof. Yemi Osinbajo as the next President of Nigeria, come 29th May, 2023.
"We are sure that based on his records, he is more prepared than every other presidential aspirant and ready to lead this country.
"Our country is at a crucial stage of our national development. It requires national experience, capacity and tested effectiveness to further steer the ship in 2023 going forward.
"As the acting President at some point in the life of this administration, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, demonstrated effectiveness and practical application of firm leadership which all Nigerians acknowledged".
Also Speaking the women leader of the group Mrs Glory Onisike, called on Abia women to get ready to vote Osibanjo into power as president.
She said his emergence as president will secured the future of Nigerian women and youths.
Speaking on behalf of the youths Mr Mbanaso Benedict, said Abia youths will support the election of a visionary leader who will give the youth a hope for tommorow.
He maintained that the youths will disappoint any politicians who intends to use them for tuggery and abandone them after the election.
"The youths are increasing in number and at the same time joblessness, drug abuse, rape and many other social vices are increasing.
"What we need now is a leader that will create employment for the youths and give them hope for the future. The 2023 election will be a different election, all we want is the best candidate to emerge as president", he said.
