2023: Greg Ibe Wins APGA Guber Ticket, Ijioma vows to challenge the result in court



 
Professor Gregory Ibe was declared winner of the Abia State All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) governorship primaries that held on 29th May 2022 at Kolpin Society in Umuahia, the Abia State 
capital.
 
Ibe, polled 283 votes other aspirants polled the following; Etigwe Uwa SAN -148 votes, Sir Chikwe Udensi – 12 votes, Gen. Ijioma N. Ijioma Rtd – 36 votes.

The returning officer Echezona Etiaba, declared him the winner of the election.

In his acceptance speech, Ibe appreciated all the voters, party officials for their roles in making the primary election successful. 

He equally appreciated his co-aspirants for contesting along side with him and urged them to partner with him so that APGA can win the 2023 election.

He assured Abians that APGA will win the 2023 election in Abia State and his government will right all the wrongs visible in the state.

Ibe, revealed that immediately he takes over government, his government will declare a state of emergency in Aba and other sectors so that his government can fix things properly.

 Immediately after his speech, Etigwe Uwa, hugged Ibe, while Gen. Ijioma N. Ijioma rtd raised some issues as regards the primaries.

Ijioma alleged that the process was rigged and that he does not believe that only Bende LGA delegates voted for him after his mobilization of delegates with 5 buses to the primary election venue.

He vowed to seek redress on that and other issues.

Citytimes reports that Mazi Chikwe Udensi, was earlier declared the of APGA guber primary election that held at Villa Roy hotel in Umuahia.
