Abia APC faction insists on the outcome, says it did not authorize any negotiating party.

A faction of the All Progressive Congress in Abia state led by Goldie Wagbara, has insisted it did authorized anybody to negotiate the outcome of governorship primary election conducted in the state on her behalf.

Speaking jointly with the state secretary of the party Barr. Perfect Okorie, on Friday Nwagbara maintained that the direct primaries that produced the immediate past minister of State for Steel and Mines development Uche Ogah, was the authentic.

He explained that the National Working Committee of the had given the State Work Committee the directive to use conduct direct primaries for the governorship and State House of Assembly aspirants.

He urged the NWC to recognize Ogah, as the authentic governorship candidate of the party in the state.

He stated,"We adhered to the directive from the NWC, led by Senator Abdullahi Adamu and National Secretary, Otunba Iyiola Omisore, which mandated the party in Abia, Benue and Osun state to adopt a direct mode of primaries for all its elective positions because of their peculiar challenges.

"Having followed the directive of the NWC that those who emerged under our faction are the party’s eligible candidate.

"Therefore we stand by the result of the direct primaries which was duly monitored by representatives of Independent National Electoral Commission.

"Abia state APC has not approved or given her consent to anybody to negotiate on this issues concerning the governorship primary election with the NWC, those doing so are on their own".
