A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic party in Abia Sir Lucky Nwogu, has dumped the party for the Young Progressive Party.
Nwogu, who is a Businessman who is well known in the Oil & Gas sector, Founder and leader of North and South Alliance, says he left the PDP because of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.
The Knight of Saint Johns of the Catholic Church, who played a key role in the emergence of Ikpeazu, as Governor in 2015, said he left the party particularly because of Governor Ikpeazu's inability to keep to his numerous promises made before his emergence.
"According to him, "Gov Ikpeazu' is incapable of honouring his words. To him, promises means nothing to him. I can no longer operate under such an umbrella".
Nwogu stated this at the weekend while speaking with newsmen, revealing that he didn't leave the party for any other person other than the Governor of the State who he said, he campaigned for, worked tirelessly to ensure that he emerged a Governor.
He said it is an aberration for the leader of a party to shun the inconsistencies and impunity in his own party, stressing that every political party must have a listening ear to the complaints of aggrieved members pointing out that he is going to Federal House to change the narratives of his people.
While decrying the level of inconsistency of PDP in Abia State, Sir Nwogu said he decided to join the young progressives in a bid to take his political career to higher grounds, maintaining that the YPP offers him better opportunity than the PDP.
Sir Nwogu reiterated that he has all it takes to place the good people of Isiala Ngwa North/ South Federal Constituency on the political map in Nigeria if elected in 2023.
In his word, "I am going to the Federal House because it will afford me the opportunity to touch the lives of my constituents"
He appealed to Abians to support the candidacy of Engineer Enyinnaya Nwafor as he is divinely positioned to change Abia for the better.
