Palliative distribution; helping aged people appeals to me, says Udensi

The second phase of Sir Chikwe Udensi, distribution of palliative to retirees and elderly people has been concluded with a charge for more Abians to join hands in assisting the aged in the state.

Speaking shortly after the distribution of food items and cash to beneficiaries from Abia south senatorial district in Aba on Thursday, Udensi, said he introduced the program because of his passion to help the aged ones in the state.

He added that the rate of poverty amongst the elderly people was much that people should not stay quiet without doing anything to alleviate their predicament.

He said, ''Helping humanity appeals so much to me that's why I'm doing this because it makes me happy.

"I feel sad that people didn't identify with us in doing this, they may be helping people privately because they are many people doing things like what we doing quietly.

"But this one I'm doing is huge, if not I could have loved to do it privately. So I want more people to come and let us make sure that Abians are better of.

"I have been doing this since 1993. It's strategy of giving back to the society because poverty is ravaging everyone, that's why we are telling the  government to do better than this".

"We are also telling Abians that doesn't have his/her PVC to go and collect it and be part of this Christmas celebration with Sir Chikwe Udensi".

The second phase of the palliative distribution, was held in Ohafia for Abia senatorial district and Umuahia for Abia Central senatorial district.Cash and bags of Rice were given to beneficiaries for christmas.
