Over 29 years after the creation of Abia state, the Customary Court in Arochukwu my home town is still bearing Government of Imo State.
Apart from the signboard, the Court building itself is in a sorry state.
The colonial building has leaky roofs with falling celing boards.
The panel of the customary Court sit under this hash environment to hear cases without electricity, fan nor air conditioner.
The few benches and tables inside the court were those inherited from Imo State.
The floor of the Court Hall and other offices are still just ceamented floor with cracks all over.
The accused and witness boxes inside the court hall looked like cages found in poultry farms. It's not funny at all.
I Call on all lovers of Justice and illustrious sons and daughters of Arochukwu Kingdom to
arise and build a benefiting court Hall for the customary Court.
The current colonial building should be left alone and preserved as a tourist site.
