The National Association of Sea Dogs,Umuahia branch on Wednesday visited Ezeleke Primary School located at Umuokpara,Umuahia South Local government Area,Abia State.
Mr Emeka Obioma, a member of the association while adressing the pupils and teachers during the event,expressed utmost joy being in their midst. "It is my priviledge to be here" he said.
Mr Emeka spoke on being a former pupil of the school and therefore thanked the teachers and the national association of sea dogs,a charity organization for deeming it fit to give back to the society.
In a similar vein Dr Stanley Okereke,a member of the association while speaking with the
Students encouraged them to observe all covid-19 guidelines stressing that the virus is very much alive.he said "you must endeavour to wash your hands often,use handsanitizer when necessary and also maintain social distancing".
In his remarks, the president of the national association of sea dogs umuahia branch,Mr Chiemeke Iroha maintained that the association has a social responsibility to preform the functions required of her.According to him "We are the voice of the voiceless, we make sure things are done the right way.
The President equally expresed his willingness to draw the attention of the government on the need to provide basic infrastructures for the school.He also advised the students to practice covid-19 protocols.
At the end of the event,items such as toilet rolls,Buckets,packs of hand sanitizers and face masks were distributed to the schools.
The philanthropic organziation also donated cash gifts to the schools and equally pledged that some pupils' schools fees will be paid for one (1) year.
One of the beneficiaries, a pupil named Igbojionu Favour thanked the association for their kind gesture towards the school.
The association at the end advised the jubilant pupils to always perform at their best at all tasks and never ro rest on their oars.
