ROTN Ebere Mary Udensi, has said the club will sustain her partnership with the Build A New Abia foundation in aiding pensioners and the elderly people in Abia state.
She revealed that Rotary club keyed into the Palliatives distribution programme to the Elderly and Pensioners powered by the founder of BANA Mazi Chikwe Udensi, inline with the club's quest to render help to the less privileged in the society.
Udensi, pointed out that Rotary club loves humanitarian acts that can reduce the suffering of the poor masses.
She further added that Rotary club in conjunction with BANA will also give out grants to businesswomen, artisans and the youths in Abia in the coming months.
She spoke at BANA office on factory Road last Saturday, when Mazi Chikwe Udensi issued cheques of N10,000 to pensioners together with a 10kg bags of rice.
In her words, "I'm over joyed by the progress we have made through this program. I'm happy that lives has been impacted. The hope of the Pensioners has been restored too.
"I know in their hearts they will be happy that God has brought someone with a heart of gold to bring help to them.
"We in Rotary club are happy to be part of this project. The Rotory club of Abuja downtown, in conjunction with the Rotary club of Umungasi Aba, the Rotary club of Arochukwu and the Rotary club of Umudike in partnership with Build A New Abia BANA the foundation of sir Chikwe Udensi, are poised to restore hope to pensioners and the elderly people in Abia state.
"The Pensioners had put their productive years to serve Abia state and at the end of the day they get nothing at old age. we have brought help to them to let them know that of many there's one that God has brought restore hope to them from the hardship they are facing. Many of them are crying for money to buy drugs to control their blood pressure, but today hope has been restored to them.
"Rotary is humanitarian service organization that render help to the Needy, poor and vulnerable and that's why we are here today.
"We are not done yet, we are going to other local governments to touch lives. we have been able to cover ten local governments we continue because we know that Abians will be happy for having this two foundation to put simles on their faces.
"We want to thank our partner BANA and we have made it a slogan that rotary should render its humanitarian service to build a new Abia".
